If the dodecagon is processed through SHV, followed by a local curvature analysis, the outputs then being plotted at X10, the results are as shown to the right. Here the local relative magnitude of curvature, pixel by pixel, around the perimeter is presented as short radial lines emanating from the local perimeter. It will be seen that the twelve symmetrically spaced peaks of local curvature are very evident, thereby confirming the visual impressions for the normally viewed dodecagon, this being despite the minimal evidence of such local peaks in the magnified, coarsely pixellated image. |
