It is difficult to realise just how many pixels are contained in the small triangle on the previous page, so to the right is a greatly magnified animation of an adjacent pair of frames from the GIF on the previous page. It should be clear that the near horizontal & near vertical edges are only inclined by two or three pixels over the length of each edge in the inclined frame, as compared with the first frame where the edges are truly horizontal & vertical.

Now read on to see what can be sensed objectively on a pixel to pixel basis, despite such a small edge movement.
